This is an exciting and anxious time. Summer is ending. As parents we are torn between being ready to send our children off to school and missing them already. Some parents are experiencing empty nest because their children have moved on to another town, or they are starting their first year of school.
Fortunately for us...we have each other. We know that we will make it. And that if the struggles become too great we have each other. We know regardless of our problems, we can count on the members of this group to help us get through it. We offer hugs, warm thoughts, and a friendly voice.
The economy is tough right now. Some of our members have lost their homes, some have lost jobs. Many are taking less trips to see doctors because of the expence of just getting there. Please don't feel like you can't participate because of your struggles. That is what our group is here for. We are here to help you! Did you know there are grants available that can help you buy "sensory" toys for your child? Or ones that will pay for alternative therapies?
Our luncheon in August is an opportunity to pick up some school supplies. In September we will be exchanging coats. Of course in October we will have the Halloween Party in addtion to our regular lunchon! Please share if you have an idea for our group!
